June’s League Round Up

Longley men’s B and C team are in 2nd place in their respective divisions at the half way point in the season.

Back-to-back promotions could be on the cards for the B team. They currently sit behind leaders Huddersfield B despite a winless month from their three matches played. Defeats to Hudds B (12-3) and promotion rivals Sandal (11-7) was countered with a draw away at Grove.

The C team are looking to bounce back from last years relegation. Wins against Thongsbridge D (10-0) and Leeds Legends (11-7) plus a draw against Holmfirth C has put the team in a strong position for the second half of the season.

The men’s A team are still looking for their first win of the season despite some close-run matches. Defeats to Mirfield (10-5), Oakfield (10-7) and Liversedge (10-8) leave the team with an uphill battle to avoid relegation.

The ladies team bagged three wins from five in the month, giving them a solid chance of retaining their Div 1 status. Victories against Batley (11-0), Thongsbridge (10-2) and Marsden (8-7) see them placed 3rd from bottom on 9pts.
