Men’s C team avoid the drop.

The Huddersfield league season provided a last match twist for the Men’s C team. In a closely fought battle, The C team lost to already relegated Shepley C 10-8, meaning both of last year’s promoted teams would drop straight back down to division 5. However, it was spotted that Shepley had fielded an ineligible player which was upheld by the league committee, meaning the C team were awarded a win. That was enough to avoid relegation by just 2 points, pushing Mirfield C into second from bottom.

With this year’s matches completed, there will be an even spread across the league next season with the Men’s A team in div 2, B team in div 3 and C team in div 4. The ladies return to div 1 after an unbeaten season, and the Men’s promoted Calderdale league team will start in div 3.
